Contract site teams

Contract site teams for solar and BESS construction.

Experienced construction and site managers, electrical and civils project managers, HSE professionals and commissioning engineers on UK solar farms and battery storage sites, with over 1GW of solar and storage delivered by our contractors. Client-side for IPPs or with EPCs and principal contractors, from mobilisation to energisation, with none of the payroll admin.

What they do

The right people on site, for the whole build.

Most of our contract placements are client-side: construction professionals working for the IPP or asset owner as their eyes and ears on site, overseeing the EPC from mobilisation and groundworks through installation to energisation. We also place contractors with EPCs and principal contractors to run their builds.

Whichever side you are on, we also supply HSE professionals and commissioning engineers for the duration of your project, covering progress, quality, CDM and HSE.

Contract recruitment FAQs

Also see solar recruitment and BESS recruitment for permanent roles.

What do your contractors do on a solar or BESS build?

Client-side, our construction and site managers work for the IPP or asset owner as their eyes and ears on site, overseeing the EPC contractor. Contractor-side, they run the build for the EPC or principal contractor. Our contractors cover progress, quality, CDM and HSE from mobilisation and groundworks through to energisation.

Do you only work client-side?

No. Most of our contract placements are client-side for IPPs and asset owners, but we also supply construction and site managers, electrical and civils project managers, HSE professionals and commissioning engineers to EPCs and principal contractors.

How quickly can you put someone on site?

Fast. We keep in touch with experienced construction, electrical and HSE professionals we have worked with before, so we can turn around new contracts quickly.

What size of projects do you support?

Our contractors have helped deliver over 1GW of UK solar and battery storage, on individual sites from 5MW to 150MW.

How does payment work?

We handle payroll, expenses, insurance and onboarding. You approve a simple online timesheet each week and we send one invoice for the days worked.

How do you engage and pay contractors?

Through a limited company, an umbrella company or CIS, inside or outside IR35 based on the client's status determination. Contractors submit timesheets online and are paid weekly, every Friday.

Who decides whether a contractor is inside or outside IR35?

The client. Under the off-payroll working rules, medium and large companies must assess each role and confirm in a Status Determination Statement whether it falls inside or outside IR35. Small companies are exempt, and in that case the contractor's own limited company makes the assessment. We agree this with you before the assignment starts.

Why use contractors instead of hiring permanently?

You get experienced people on site for exactly the length of the build, without permanent headcount, recruitment cost or payroll admin.
